Grandfather Brown, an Englishman, born in England, married there and moved to Connecticut. His son, HEZEKIAH, born in Connecticut, married Miss Prindle. ZERAH BROWN, owner of the Bible, was the son of Hezekiah.

Zerah Brown came to Bridgewater, and from there to Lorraine, Jefferson Co., NY. Sarah, wife of Zerah was the daughter of Mr. Doolittle, born in America, and Miss Andrus. Her grandfather Andrus was born in Dublin, Ireland, was English, and her grandmother was Scotch.
The following record was copied in the office of the Surrogate of Jefferson County, from papers pertaining to the settlement of the estate of ISAAC BROWN, who died in Adams, NY, April 25, 1868. Heirs listed were:
