1.  JACOB BUNCE was born Abt. 1774, and died Bet. 1834 - 1835 in Rutland, 
Jefferson Co., New York.  He is buried in what was once called "Henry Hopkins 
Cemetery" in Rutland, Jefferson Co., N.Y. because it was across the road from 
the farm owned by Henry Hopkins.  Maple Hill Cem., established 1820, is in this 
precise location, and could possibly be this same cemetery.   No marker has 
been found for Jacob's grave.  He is found to have bought land in 1834 in 
Jefferson Co. and by the 1835 Jefferson Co. state census his wife, Rachel, is 
listed as a widow with 2 males listed, 3 females listed, and 2 females 
married under the age of 45 listed.  Rachel would have been 64 at this time.  
It is believed that he is the Jacob Bunce on the 1800 census for Oneida Co., 
N.Y. and on the landowners list of 1814 for Oneida.  It is also believed that 
he and his family were in the Lewis/Jefferson Co. area of New York before he 
bought the land in 1834 but proof of this has not been found as of yet.  

He married RACHEL SATTERLEE Abt. 1794.  She was born Abt. June 1774
supposedly in Westerly, Rhode Island and died Sept 13, 1860 in Crawford Co., 
Pa. at age 86 yr 4 mo.  Rachel is buried in Miller's Station Cem., Rockdale 
Township, Crawford Co., Pa.  Her tombstone states she was the "wife of Jacob 
Bunce" and gives her name and age at death.

NOTE:  Ezekiel, Henry and Laura are buried next to their mother - Rachel  
Satterlee Bunce in Miller's Station Cem., Rockdale Twsp., Crawford Co., Pa.  
Quite a few other members of this BUNCE family are buried in this cemetery 
also.

A copy of a list of Jacob and Rachel's children made by one of their 
grandchildren, whom Rachel helped raise after the child's parents died, has 
been obtained by me and confirms the children listed below.  Jacob and Rachel 
had 17 children as follows:.
