Sackett Comstock was born 9 October 1791 in New Ashford, Massachusetts, son of Medad Comstock and Eunice Elizabeth Lamb. Medad was the son of Ichabod Comstock and Margarett Sackett. Medad was born 11 August 1763 in Williamstown, Berkshire, MA. He married Eunice on 30 April 1783. Medad died on 28 December 1842 in Lee Center, Oneida Co., NY. They were the parents of 12 known children, Sackett being the fifth child. Sackett's sister, Lucy, was born 11 April 1800 and she married Anthony Potter, whose early family is on this site.
Sackett Comstock was in Jefferson Co., NY at an early date. In 1826 he was a Justice of the Peace in Pamelia, NY and bought land in Evans Mills in 1827. By occupation he was a blacksmith. He married Jane Davis who was born 1806 and died after 1850 in Jefferson County. Sackett and Jane sold property in Pamelia in 1839.
After Jane's death, Sackett married Electa Crandall Acres on 17 February 1859, in Jefferson Co. She was born 1816 and died in St. Lawrence Co., 29 May 1873 at Hermon. Sackett died in 1874 at Hermon and both are buried in the Hermon Cemetery.

Electa had children from a previous marriage to a man named Acres. He was probably the Nicholson Acres who died 15 June 1846 at age 34 in Antwerp, Jefferson Co. In Electa's will (Vol. 12, p. 389, St. Lawrence Co., NY Wills) she left the following:
In the matter of the estate of ELECTY COMSTOCK of Hermon, NY. On 19th June 1873, JOHN G. MERRITT petitioned to open probate.
Sackett Comstock, surviving husband and IZAMA ACRES of Hermon, NY
Left to JOHN N. MERRILL and LUCINDA COMSTOCK all real estate, in trust for the benefit of daughter, IZAMIA ACRES.
To her sister, LUCINDA COUGHLIN $500.
Named her brothers: ABEL W. CRANDALL and FREDERICK CRANDALL.
Appointed JOHN H. MERRILL executor and LUCINDA COUGHLIN executrix.

Sacket's father, Medad Comstock, was a Revolutionary War soldier who received a pension and was a private from Massachusetts. Medad was born on 11 August 1763 in Williamstown, Berkshire, MA. He married Eunice Elizabeth Lamb on 30 April 1783. His death occurred on 28 December 1842 in Lee Center, Oneida Co., NY at age 79 years, 4 months and 17 days. Eunice Elizabeth was born 1 October 1766 in Pomfret, Windham, CT, daughter of Thomas and Deborah Lamb. She died on 25 June 1834 in Westernville, Oneida Co., NY at 67 years, 8 months and 24 days.
