George L. Fairbanks

Union Soldier - Distinguished Service

George L. Fairbanks, born 1841, enlisted at 21 years of age at Watertown on February 18, 1862 for 3 years in the 94th NY Volunteer Infantry, Company K. By 1865 he has been promoted to 1st Sergeant. On April 1, 1865 he was killed in battle at Five Forks, Virginia, and he was buried there.
