JOSIAH HALLADAY

Union Soldier - Distinguished Service

Josiah Halladay,single, age 17, student, enlisted for 3 years February 14, 1864 at Henderson, with the 18th NY Artillery. He had the rank of Private. The town of Henderson paid a bounty of $300 for his service. He died of Typhoid fever in New Orleans on June 19, 1864. He was the son of Henry Thompson and Polly Halladay of Henderson, and he was born July 17, 1848.
