CAPT. CHAUNCY W. KILBORN

Union Soldier - Distinguished Service

Chauncy W. Kilborn was born in Orleans, June 5, 1834 and at 27 enlisted in the 94th New York Volunteer Infantry Company B on October 3, 1861 at Orleans. He was mustered out on July 18, 1865.

Veteran of 94th Regiment Passes Away in New Jersey.

Word was received in this city today of the death of Captain C. W. Kilborn, of Bridgeton. N. J., a former resident of Jefferson county. The news came by postal card, telling only the date of the funeral, so that the circumstances of the death are not known. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 1. Burial will be at Rosenbane, N. J.

Captain Kilborn was born in Orleans, Jefferson county, 81 years ago today. He lived in this country until the Civil war broke out, when he enlisted. He served, in the 94th Regiment. He was in many of the big campaigns and fought in the battle of Gettysburg. After the war he settled in New Jersey, and had never returned to this county to live, although he had made frequent visits. Mrs.Isabella Gray, 132 Bowers avenue, of this city is a sister of Captain Kilborn.
