Daniel Wheeler

Union Soldier - Distinguished Service

Daniel Wheeler, son of James Wheeler and Celinda Tucker was born in 1835 in Lorraine, NY. Daniel married Maria Gould, by whom he had six children. He enlisted at the age of 28 in the Union army in Watertown - The online information in Jefferson County NYGenWeb Civil War records are blank as to regiment, company and enlistment date - He was killed in the battle of Lookout Mountain, southwest of Chattanooga, Tn., between daylight and 3 p. m. on November 24, 1863; and was buried there.
