Richard Youngs

Union Soldier - Distinguished Service

Richard Youngs was born in Henderson Harbor, November 10, 1838, and at 23 enlisted in the 35th New York Volunteer Infantry Company A on November 4, 1861 at Watertown. He was mustered out on June 5, 1863. He reenlisted in the 94th New York Volunteers Company A in July 30, 1863 at Oswego and was mustered out July 18, 1865.

VETERAN OF THE 94TH. NATIVE OF HENDERSON HARBOR DIES

RICHARD YOUNGS, 76 YEARS OF AGE, PASSES AWAY IN PULASKI.

Pulaski March 17.-- Richard Youngs, Civil war veteran and a native of Henderson Harbor, died last evening at 9 at the residence of his son. Frank I. Youngs, where he had made his home during the past five years, coming here from Minetto.

Mr. Youngs was born at Henderson Harbor, Nov. 10, 1838. He followed farming in Jefferson and other counties and served throughout the Civil war, being a member of Company A, 94th New York Volunteers, and participated in many engagements during the war.

He was a member of J. B. Butler Post No. 111. G. A. R.. Pulaski. Surviving are three sons, Charles K. Youngs of Lafargeville, William V. Youngs of Fernwood and Frank I. Youngs of Pulaski, and two daughters, Mrs. Amanda Hill of Palermo and Mrs. Frank Dryden of Minetto.
