PIONEER HOOVER FAMILY



1.  WILLIAM HOOVER, (son of JACOB and MARGARET EIGENBRODT
HOOVER) was born 23 August 1789 at Little Falls, Herkimer County, NY.   He
was at Sackets Harbor in 1812, settled in Town of LeRay after his
marriage, but  moved to Manheim, NY in 1826.  He was a cousin of the BETSY
HOOVER (1777-1848) who married Jefferson County Pioneer ROBERT
SIXBURY (1763-1875).   WILLIAM HOOVER died 2 July 1854 and is buried
in the Old Yellow Churchyard there.

He married in 1812

MARY AGNES PETRIE, who was born 23 Aug 1793, the daughter of JOHN
MARKS and DOROTHY (CASLER) PETRIE.  She died 8 Aug 1859.
