1.  HENRY HORTON, (son of WILLIAM and Lizzie (COVERT) HORTON) was born
at Sommers, NY, 7 November 1771.  HENRY and his family moved to Pt.
Salubrious, Jefferson Co., NY in the autumn of 1809, and settled there. 
He served in the War of 1812.   He died 4 February 1857.  

He married at Colchester, Delaware County NY 10 March 1792; Elder Woolsey
officiating

ABIGAIL COOK(E) who was born in Dutchess County NY 4 July 1774.  Both were
members of the Baptist Church.  Abigail died 26 September 1854.  Both are
buried at Pt. Salubrious Cemetery on land that Henry donated for the
cemetery.  Their children were all born at Colchester, except Susan and
Henry, who were born at Pt. Salubrious.

2.  JAMES HORTON, (son of WILLIAM and Lizzie (COVERT) HORTON) was born at
Sommers, NY, 23 January 1773, a brother to HENRY HORTON, above.  James was
16 years of age when his father moved to Colchester, Delaware County NY,
where he endured the hardships and privations incident to frontier life. 
In 1806 he moved from Colchester to Chaumont, Jefferson County, then a
dense forest.  He settled permanently on Pt. Salubrious, being the first
family of white people who ever settled there.  Here he was again exposed
to hardships, causing continued ill health, until his death, 5 November
1833.

He married 15 May 1800

MARTHA WHITE, who was born at White Plains, NY, 17 March 1775, and died 16
July 1862, aged 87.  Their first two children were born at Colchester. 
The remaining children were born on Pt. Salubrious.
