PIONEER KIRSCHER FAMILY



1. JACOB KIRSCHER was born in Watertown NY (date unknown). According to the 1850 census, Jacob Kirscher and his wife Caroline (Bahr) had the following children: Caroline, David, Jacob and Elizabeth, age 1 (Elizabeth died on June 12, 1851) and were living in LaFargeville, Jefferson County, NY. Caroline (Carrie) married Jacob Bents (who was born in Germany) on October 10, 1859 in Jefferson County, NY and moved to Verona, Dane County, WI. The rest of the family moved to Verona in 1869.

According to her birth certificate his daughter, Pauline, my great-grandmother was born on 4/30/1854 in LaFargeville, NY.

JACOB KIRSCHER married

CATHERINE BARR/BAHR, who was born in France (both dates unknown). Living with them IN 1850 were her father, Jacob Bahr, age 57; sister, Liliann, age 18 and brother, Frederick, age 12. In the 1860 census, they have added Josephine, Pauline, John and Lucy Ann.

Frederick Bahr served in the Civil War in 94th New York Regiment.
