I have all editions of this publication. Contains vital records, church records, military records, naturalization records, census records, and a wealth of information on people living in Jefferson County. Most information is from about 1820 to the late 1800s.

Hough, Franklin B. A History of Jefferson County in the State of New York , published 1854, not indexed, 601 pages. A myriad of information on the towns, their histories, newspapers, biographical information, etc.

Lance, Joyce Weese Barr. The Founding of the Schools in Lyme and the Pioneers Who Built Them. 1985. Not indexed. I have not read this book, so am not sure of the contents. Contains information on pioneer settlers, teachers, students with labeled photos.

Litchman, Dr. William M. An Every-Name Index for Agricultural Schedules, Industry Other than Agricultural Schedules, Marriages, Deaths and Civil War Soldier Deaths in the 1865 New York State Census for Jefferson County. published 1996, an index, 218 pages. This has a lot of information. If farming, gives surname, given name, township, election district, page number. Marriages, gives bride, or groom, age, spouse, and their age, date of marriage, township, page number. Death, gives surname, given name, date of death, township, and page number.

Litchman, Dr. William M. An Every Name Index of the 1865 Census for Jefferson County Towns of Hounsfield, Lyme, and Worth.

Reeves, George W. Jefferson County in the World War [World War I] 1920, not indexed, 208 pages. Gives names, town, addresses, branch of service, list those on committees, short biographical sketches regarding some of the nurses, some death dates, and much more.
