JAMES HUNT, the son of CHARLES HUNT was born 16 June 1802 in Herkimer Co., NY and died 12 April 1874. As a young man he went to Jefferson Co., NY and farmed at Antwerp.

He married 1)AVA CONGDON on 25 Dec. 1823; she was born in Herkimer Co on 22 Nov 1795 and died 9 Dec 1838.

He married 2)PHAMA C. BLAIR who was born in Oneida Co., NY on 6 March 1812 and died 11 Jan 1865.

He married 3)LOVILLA HARDY who was born 25 June 1817 and died 19 May 1868.

CHARLES HUNT, son of JAMES, was born in Antwerp, Jefferson Co., NY on 28 March 1832 and died 27 Feb 1900. In 1856 he moved to Boone Co., Iowa and began farming in that state. In 1866 he returned to New York and purchased a farm in the town of Antwerp where he farmed until 1891. He married on 1 Feb 1859 to CLARISSA POOL, who was born at Theresa, Jefferson Co., NY on 10 Nov. 1837, daughter of ZALMON and HARRIET PRINDLE POOL. ZALMON and HARRIET were married 25 June 1815.

ZALMON POOL Sr. was born 25 Aug 1767; MARY CORP was born 20 Feb 1769, daughter of Rev. DANIEL CORP of Trenton, NY.

ZALMON POOL was born in Trenton, Oneida Co., NY on 26 Sept 1793, son of ZALMON and MARY (CORP) POOL. He died 26 Sept 1866. In 1818 he moved to Theresa, Jefferson Co., NY where he purchased a tract of land and carried on a lumber and feed milling business.


JOSEPH and ELIZABETH JOY PRINDLE: JOSEPH PRINDLE was born 7 March 1771 and died 13 Aug. 1861, son of MOSES PRINDLE (b 1724 - d 16 Dec 1785). MOSES PRINDLE married CHRISTIAN GRAHAM, born 1726 and died 20 Oct 1817. JOSEPH PRINDLE came from Brattleboro VT and lived in Russia, Herkimer Co., NY. JOSEPH PRINDLE married on 15 Nov 1785 ELIZABETH JOY, born 10 April 1776 and died 10 April 1864. Their daughter HARRIET married ZALMON POOL.

Her daughter CLARISSA married CHARLES HUNT.

ERASTUS WRIGHT was born in Russia, Herkimer Co., NY on 21 Dec. 1809. He was the son of DANIEL WRIGHT who came into Herkimer Co. from Vermont via his native state of Rhode Island. He was descended from Capt. PETER WRIGHT, who was in the Revolutionary army. DANIEL WRIGHT, father of ERASTUS, was also a colonel of a regiment in Herkimer Co. ERASTUS WRIGHT was a carpenter and millwright and moved to Jefferson Co., NY where he settled at Depauville and resided for 60 years. In 1831 ERASTUS married CLARISSA PRINDLE and had four children. CLARISSA died in 1839 and in 1840 he married ELIZABETH NASH. They had one son. PITKIN SPERRY was born 10 Sept 1774 in Woodbridge, CT, son of ASA SPERRY and his second wife, ESTHER TUTTLE. PITKIN died in 1853 at 78 years 10 months 22 days, buried Clayton Cemetery. He was a farmer and settled in the town of Clayton, Jefferson Co. NY. He married on 2 Feb 1794 in New Haven Co. CT LUCY SANFORD, who was born as ESTHER LUCY SANFORD, on 26 July 1769 at Woodbridge CT. She was the daughter of STEPHEN SANFORD and SYBIL WHITE. ESTHER LUCY SPERRY died 28 April 1823 in Woodbridge, CT.

8)FREDERICK S. SPERRY b 9 June 1825; d 29 Nov 1917; m SARAH G. MOON (1836-1889). Served in the Civil War. SARAH J. SPERRY was the daughter of ABNER MOON, born 1836. She married in 1858 L. PLUMB of Lewis Co. NY who died 20 Oct 1864, leaving her a widow with two sons, FRANK S. and SIDNEY. She married as her second husband, FREDERICK S. SPERRY in 1871.


STEPHEN SPERRY was the son of ASA and ESTHER TUTTLE SPERRY. He was born 24 Sept 1777 in Woodbridge CT and married FANNY BRADLEY who was born 18 Mar 1780 and died 3 June 1840, daughter of PHILO and RHODA WATTLES BRADLEY. STEPHEN moved from Russia NY about 1818 to Genessee Co., and then to the town of Clayton in Jefferson Co., NY. He and his wife are buried at Clayton Center NY. STEPHEN died in 1854 at 76 years 3 months 4 days.

He and MINERVA SPERRY had seven children. Their son: STEPHEN ENOS was born 1837 died 14 Sept 1898 at Depauville.
