PIONEER PUTNAM FAMILY



1. JOHN A. PUTNAM was born in Herkimer Co. NY about 1819. At the 1865 New York State census he and his family were all living in the same house in the Town of Alexandria, Jefferson County, NY, including his two sons-in-law, JAMES DAILY and JOHN FORBES, and his granddaughter, MARY E. DAILY. A boarder, John Daily, lived in the household also.

He married MARIETTE KEECH* b 1819, Town of Western, Oneida Co b 1819, to GEORGE [1792 - 1866] & REBECCA CLARK [1797-1873] KEECH; son of Revolutionary War Veteran JAMES KEECH [Jan 1763 - aft Nov 1835]. George's bro Andrew Keech* resided in nearby Clayton, NY. The Keeches and Putnams were residents of Tryon Co [later renamed Montgomery Co] and both families later resided on Webster Hill in the Town of Western. [see below]
