PIONEER TISDALE FAMILY



1. GEORGE L. TISDALE was born in Taunton, Mass. and died at Cazenovia, NY in 1838. They arrived in Sacketts Harbor by 1821, the year their son, George A. Tisdale was born there on Oct.3. He became a prominent insurance executive Cleveland, OH and died in 1893. His wife survived him by several years. They had at least two daughters, Caroline (d. 13 Nov.1919), and Mary who married James Barnum Savage (b. 25 July 1841 in Saratoga Springs, NY, d. 3 Feb. 1922 in Cleveland) on 9 Nov. 1886. Mary Savage had no children. A portrait of George A. Tisdale and information on his life after leaving Sacketts Harbor is in vol.3, pp.218-219 of "A History of Cuyahoga County and the City of Cleveland," by William R. Coates.

AMELIA MARIA GRAHAM, who was born in Dutchess County, NY.

GEORGE A. TISDALE married (2) in his old home at Sacketts Harbor
CAROLINE M. BURT. In 1852 they established their permanent residence in Cleveland, OH.
