On Wednesday last of an affliction of the brain, MAJOR RICHARD GOODELL, agent and keeper of the state prison in this place, formerly speaker of the house of assembly, and a meritorious office of the army during the last war. His remains were taken to the place of his former residence in Jefferson County, for interment and were escorted from the village on Thursday, with military and Masonic honors by the Auburn Guards and Masonic Fraternity, followed by a numerous concourse of citizens.
