In Orleans, June 25th, MRS. BETSY EVERETT, consort of the late JONAS EVERETT, in the 88th year of her age. She was born in Connecticut and in early life, with her husband, came into Jefferson Co., and settled in Watertown, when as yet there was but one house in the place. Here she remained for a number of years and from Watertown they removed to Orleans and again commenced life in a new country. For more than forty years she has been a faithful member of the Christian Church in the latter place. She leaves a numerous circle of children and grandchildren, who mourn their loss.

In Kenosha, WI, on the 10th inst., Mr. OTIS COLWELL, age 68 years. He was among the pioneers and bore a conspicuous part in settling and in making Kenosha what it is now, an important commercial city. (long obituary followed notice)
It is known to all our old inhabitants that Mr. Colwell, was the brother of CHILLINGWORTH COLWELL, Esq., of this village, was a resident of the place and among its most respected and enterprising mechanics, from 1811 to 1845. His native place was Adams, Berkshire Co., Mass. Where he was born in 1793. He first came to this town in 1811 and hired himself to Major Thomas Delano, as a farm hand. He returned to Mass., at the end of a year, and apprenticed himself to a carriage and sleigh maker in his native town, where he remained until the summer of 1815. In the fall of that year he came here again, and in company with his brother, Chillingworth, opened a shop for the purpose of conducting the business of carriage making.

On the 11th inst., GEORGE FREEMAN, son of FRANCIS and JANE FREEMAN, of Orleans, of fever, age 20 years, 11 months and 19 days.
Died:
At her son's residence, in Orleans, Nov. 14th, MRS. ABIGAIL HARDY, consort of the late GIDEON HARDY, age 76 years and 10 months. She was born in New Hampshire, town of Greenfield, and moved with her husband from there sometime in the year 1823, and settled in York State, town of Orleans, and remained five years, and then removed to Brownville, where they lived from the yar 1828 to the year 1855, after which she returned again to Orleans, to her son's (Mr. John Hardy's) and there remained till her death. She as united with the Baptist Church. (long obituary followed the notice).
Her funeral was attended at her son's residence and her remains were taken the next day to Brownville for interment.
