SAMUEL FELT - DEAD
The not unexpected death of SAMUEL FELT, father of Druggist Felt, occurred at the family residence on Benedict St., Tuesday morning. Deceased was age 71. The funeral will occur on Thursday and the interment will be at Felts Mills.

MRS. H. A. HATCH -
Died at her home near Fort Ripley, Minn., Thursday morning, March 15th, 1888 of typhoid fever, MRS. H. A. HATCH. The deceased was 28 years old, a daughter of S. G. HOVEY of Hounsfield, this county. She was married to Mr. Hatch nine years ago, when they removed at once to Minnesota to build up a home...She leaves to mourn her loss a fond husband and two little girls, one five and one three years old, a father and mother, four brothers and two sisters. Mr. Hatch will at once begin to dispose of his property, when he will return with his two children and deceased wife to his former home. He was formerly of Smithville, this county, and a brother of S. W. HATCH, deceased, formerly of Adams.

OBITUARY - WILLIAM PATCH
Mr. WM. PATCH died at Depauville, March 5th, at the residence of his son, Mr. JOHN PATCH, with whom he had enjoyed a pleasant home during his declining years. Mr. Patch was a native of Vermont, but very early in life, with his parents, moved to New Hampshire. From her with his family, in the prime of life, he removed to New York. In about 1847 he came to this town where he resided until his death, in his 77th year. He was a man of positive convictions and decided opinions...He leaves three sons who command the respect of all who know them, also one daughter who is highly esteemed among all her acquaintances. Mr. Patch was sick only a few days...Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church on March 7th...

OBITUARY - MRS. ALICE McCORMIC, who died Feb. 26, 1888, at her residence near LaFargeville in her 64th year. She leaves a family of ten children and a large circle of friends...a lengthy poem followed...

LORA, the 10 year old daughter of STILES CURTIS of Barnes Corners, died at Lowville on Friday. She had the measles and caught a cold.

MRS. J. S. COON, death has claimed a devoted wife, a fond mother and a loving sister. ... Her remains will repose in Brookside...

There are many who will be sorry to hear of the death of Mr. E. E. BARNEY of Lowville, which occurred on Tuesday. Mr. Barney was the son of the late MAJOR BARNEY of Belleville, and nephew of G. HARRISON SMITH of this city. (Watertown) He leaves a wife and one child

OSCAR F. BOOMER died in Syracuse on Sunday. He was born in Jefferson Co., on 29 October 1831. He was a veteran of the rebellion and his father, COLLINS BOOMER, was one of the first settlers of this county, and a conspicuous figure on the frontier in the War of 1812.

SUDDEN DEATH OF FLORA O. BROCKWAY - We are called upon today to extend the hand of sympathy to our neighbor, J. W. BROCKWAY and wife, who mourn the death of their little daughter, FLORA, which occurred Monday evening at 7:30 p.m....

DIVORCE:
FRED DeROCHE has begun suit for divorce from his wife. He went to Niagara County to work and left his wife and three children in Watertown. Recently he received a letter from his wife to the effect that one child was dead and in the city vault; the others, two girls, were in the Orphan's Home and another had been adopted by a resident of Sackets Harbor. He hurried home to find his wife living with a soldier at Sackets. She did not want anything to do with him and so he began the suit.

OBITUARY -
Mr. WILLIAM SLACK of Felts Mills, NY was buried on Sunday, April 15th, at Sanfords Corners. The deceased was 87 years old, born in VT and came into this section when about five years old. He has lived in LeRay and Rutland and within a few miles of Watertown, ever since...Mr. Slack's son has long been in charge of the R. W. & O. Depot at Felts Mills.

MRS. MARY H. TALCOTT, the Lady Bountiful of Chicago, calmly expired at her home in that city, April 17. She was born in Watertown on May 23, 1817, her maiden name being MARY H. OTIS. She was widely known as the woman philanthropist. It is estimated that since the death of her husband she has given away at least $300,000 to various public charities in Chicago.

At his home in Henderson, Friday morning, LEVI CRITTENTON, a well-known and honored resident, died suddenly from a stroke of paralysis...Deceased was about 60 years old and was town assessor. His wife and son survive him.

SUICIDE: G. B. VANDEWALKER, a well-to-do farmer of the town of LeRay, suicided by hanging himself to a tree near his home Monday night. He had lately been afflicted with a mild form of insanity, and was closely watched by his family. Last evening he left eh family circle ostensibly to get a drink of water and was followed in a short time by two of the family, but he had disappeared and was not found until dead. He was 48 years old.

We are sorry to chronicle the death of CHAUNCEY L. BARTLETT of Lorraine, Jeff. Co., which occurred on the 4th inst. He was one of the oldest citizens of that town and one of the most respected. He was the father of HOMER A. BARTLETT and of MRS. ABBA A. JOHNSON, of this city. He was a frequent visitor to his children here and was known to many of our people by whom he was much esteemed.

The unexpected death of T. W. LYMAN, who for years was the agent of the U & B. R.R. at this city and who has more recently been connected with the supply department of the R. W. & O. Road, occurred at his late residence, 50 Franklin St. Sunday, from pneumonia. Mr. Lyman was age 49. He had many friends. His wife and a daughter survive him.

It is with regret that the announcement is made of the death of a true Christian yung lady, in the person of Miss LIBBIE ROCHE, which occurred at the City Hotel on Friday evening. The deceased was well known throughout the city and loved for her many excellent social qualities. She had reached the age of 25 years at the time of her death.

Affliction has again fallen upon the household of Dr. and Mrs. G. S. FARMER in the death of their little daughter, ALICE H., age but a year and five months. A double sorrow such as theirs commands universal sympathy of a kind that can not be adequately expressed.

At Brownville, May 13, SERENUS D. SCHRAM, age 35 years.

LAFAYETTE L. BIGELOW - The may friends of the late Mr. and Mrs. L. J. BIGELOW will hear with sorrow of the death of their youngest son, LAFAYETTE L. BIGELOW, which sad event took place in Brooklyn on May 9th at the age of 18 years. After his mother's death, he made his home at his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. MASON ROUNDS of Mannsville, where he attended school until he went to Cazenovia Seminary for a year or more...The brothers, Paul and Clarence in their Omaha home, will feel the pain of this bereavement and sorrow that they were not able to see him again or be present at his funeral. His body was brought on Friday last to Mannsville, where at the Baptist Church, filled with relatives and friends, the funeral services were conducted by Rev. Dr. Fisk of this city, who 18 years ago also officiated at the funeral of his father. His body was laid near those of his father and mother at Brookside.

SERENES D. SCHRAM, age 35 years of Brownville, while unloading lumber upon a car a few days ago, sustained an injury by which he was confined to his home. Sunday he expired. Dr. Gates was the attending physician and did all he could to save his life, but without avail.

ABNER W. BAKER whose death occurred Friday of cancer, was age 59. He was born in Jefferson Co., and had lived in this vicinity during a great portion of his life. He served as deputy sheriff of this county and while in that position he received injuries which are thought to have been the first cause of his death...After residing three years in Adams he went west and engaged in stock raising, which, however, his health would not permit him to continue. While chopping some kindling wood, a piece struck him upon the old wound. Gradually a cancer former there, and 18 months ago he returned to Watertown. His death was expected daily. The deceased leaves a wife and one son, GEORGE I. BAKER, to mourn his loss.

BENJAMIN F. WILDS, age 85 years, died at Ellisburg Thursday morning He was an honored and highly intelligent citizen.

ABRAM CRITTENDEN, an old inmate of the county house, and a charge of the town of Henderson, expired on Tuesday, May 15. He was in the insane asylum and was sent there about six years ago from Henderson, where he formerly resided. Crittenden was born in 1796 and was a harmless, inoffensive person. Death in his case resulted from old age.
