Thursday morning about 11 o'clock the marriage of OSCAR M. PADDOCK and EDITH O. DAVIDSON was celebrated at the home of the bride on Sterling Street...The ceremony was performed by Rev. S. A. Hayt, who officiated...The bride was attired in an elegant dress of ivory white satin, duchess lace, with a lace front. She wore diamond ornaments and carried an elegant bouquet of white roses and jasmine...

At the residence of Joseph Hadcock, on the 23d inst., a most pleasing affair took place long to be remembered especially by the two who were most interested. These two were FRANK BURNHAM, youngest son of MRS. HENRY HOPKINS (formerly MRS. DEXTER BURNHAM) and Miss ETTA HADCOCK, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. JOSEPH HADCOCK of Rutland...The happy couple were made one by Rev. Mr. Hickok of East Watertown...

At the residence of S. H. Bolton, on Orchard St., Wednesday night, there occurred the marriage of their daughter, ETTA C. to WALTER D. TYLER. The ceremony was performed by Rev. J. Winslow of this city...There were about 150 present...

Last Thursday evening the marriage of CHARLES MOWRY of Oswego, and Miss MINNIE GRANT occurred at the residence of A. L. Grant, at Perch River. The happy couple were married under a large floral horsehoe arch by Rev. M. Wright of Depauville...There were about 30 friends present...Mr. and Mrs. Mowry after a short visit in Oswego will return and make Chaumont their future home.

SUICIDE BY DROWNING-
At an early hour Wednesday morning, MRS. THOMAS BRADY was missed from her home in Cape Vincent. A search was immediately made for her and she was found in the river near Burnham's dock. She was not dead when found, but all effort to restore her was without avail and she died soon after being taken from the water. Mrs. Brady was about 55 years of age and leaves a husband and seven children. She had been ill for a long time and it is thought that while suffering from temporary aberration she left her home and threw herself into the river. The funeral will take place Friday.

DEATH OF MRS. DEXTER SWAN-
A telegram received at Theresa Saturday from Washington, announced the death of MRS. DEXTER SWAN, who was a daughter of the late WM. DRESSER of Theresa. She was held in high esteem by all who knew her. Her bereaved husband, daughter and other relatives have the widespread sympathy of the community. The burial will take place at Washington. Mrs. Swan was 45 years of age.

The remains of Capt. DAN LANGIN of Wolf Island, drowned off the schooner Fitzgerald, nearly two years ago, were found a few weeks ago in a sand bank on the shore of Lake Erie. The remains were identified by his relatives who had them interred.

AMOS COLVIN died very suddenly at his home in Champion last Saturday. He was seated at the dinner table and from all appearances was as well as usual when he fell back in his chair and expired without a word.

The ceremony was performed by Rev. M. T. Hill of Pamelia Four Corners...The presents were numerous and valuable, consisting of a beautiful hanging lamp, presented to the bride by the groom...

Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock a joyful event took place in Emmanuel Church whereby two hearts were made happy. Miss GRANT, daughter of J. M. BATEMAN of Adams, and HORACE H. NORTON of Depauville, were the parties most interested. Rev. Edward Moyses read the beautiful Episcopal marriage service...

A brilliant society event occurred Thursday afternoon in the marriage of FRED H. MOORE of Oswego, formerly of Watertown, to Miss HATTIE CHAPPLE, only daughter of Dr. and Mrs. J. MORTIMER CRAWE of this city. The ceremony was performed at Trinity Church by the rector, Rev. R. A. Olin, assisted by Rev. William L. Parker of Oswego. The church was filled with the wealth and aristocracy of the city, 700 invitations having been issued for the occasion...On returning they will make Oswego their future home...

OBITUARY-MRS. ADELINE H. BETTS
The remains of Mrs. Adelina H. Betts, widow of the late GEORGE B. BETTS, arrived in the city, Saturday evening. They were accompanied by her only child, WILLIAM S. BETTS, and her sister, Miss JULIET SMITH. The funeral was held from the residence of George Smith, No. 6 Sterling St., at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon...She died at the home of her father in Jacksonville, Florida on November 7, her death being sudden and unexpected. She was born i this city in 1842, and was a daughter of CHARLES F. SMITH, brother of GEORGE SMITH. Mr. Smith held a commission of captain during the war and at its close settled in Jacksonville, Fla. Mrs. Betts, however, having married in June, 1863, GEORGE B. BETTS, still made Watertown her home...Soon after the death of her husband, who was a well known clothing merchant in this city, Mrs. Betts went to her father's home in Florida, where she has since resided, occasionally visiting her friends in this city. Besides the son and sister mentioned above, her father and a sister, MRS. ALBERT COMINS of this city, survive her...

MRS. JUDGE LANSING-
In this city Tuesday morning, about 10 o'clock, CORNELIA HUBBARD, widow of the late Judge ROBERT LANSING, and daughter of the late NOADIAH HUBBARD of Champion, passed from this life...Mrs. Lansing was born in Champion and had reached the ripe age of 81 years, being one of the eldest members of a family whose name has figured with honor in the history of Jefferson County. ...Mrs. Lansing was a sister of HIRAM HUBBARD of Champion, and WARD HUBBARD, MRS. Mrs. Lucy J. Candee, widow of the late G. W. CANDEE, died at her late home, No. 44 Massey St., at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, after a protracted and painful illness...Mrs. Candee was the daughter of JOHN WINSLOW and sister of BRADLEY and NORRIS WINSLOW. She had been a resident of this city since her marriage, and was well known...

DANIEL HOLBROOK -
Daniel Holbrook, who died at the residence of his son at Pillar Point, Monday, age 84 years and 4 months, was one of the early settlers of the county, coming into it in 1811. He helped to clear the land and also helped draw the timber which composed the old ship "New Orleans" at Sackets Harbor. He was Justice of the Peace for 28 consecutive terms...Out of twelve children six survive him, among them are Rev. WILLIAM M. HOLBROOK of Martinsburg, Lewis Co., and GEORGE HOLBROOK of this city.

OBITUARY - MRS. D. B. DEWEY:
About 3:15 Friday morning, MRS. DWIGHT B. DEWEY passed quietly from this life. For some time she has been an invalid, but she always bore her suffering and trouble bravely and never complained. She was a kind and loving wife and mother and was thoroughly devoted to home. Her maiden name was CAREY and she was born in Kilkenny, Ireland in 1840. Coming to this country when 14 years of age, the greater part of her life was passed in this city...She was married to Mr. DEWEY in1869. Her brother, THOMAS CAREY and her sister, MRS. PARSON HINES, both of this city, survive her. The funeral took place Sunday afternoon from St. Patrick's Church..Rev. Father Glenn officiated...

FROM DEXTER - ELISHA HALL PARKER

Elisha Hall Parker, who was buried in this place on Dec. 2d, was one of Dexter's oldest and most respected citizens. He was born at Hartford, NY, Sept. 27, 1809 and came to Dexter in 1827, his father then building a grist mill since burned, where Bluninger and Strange now have their shingle factory. In 1837 he was married to Miss MARY NELSON, daughter of Dr. DAVID NELSON, surgeon in the War of 1812. In 1849 he wit his family moved to Buffalo, NY, where he remained until the spring of 1846, when he returned to Dexter where he has since resided. He was a miller by occupation...He left to mourn his death, a wife and five children: Misses NETTIN and KATE and MRS. GEO. W. CLARK of Dexter, WILLIAM D. of Lowville and ELISHA H. of Sackets Harbor.
