Mr. THOS. HUNTER, who after an illness of one week, died on Friday last. The imminent cause of his death was a fit of apoplexy. Mr. Hunter was an old landmark, having lived in Dexter for over 40 years and has always carried on the harness business. He has grown up a family of six children: JAMES HUNTER and MRS. ALEXANDER SMITH of Toronto, Ontario; MRS. EDWARD HUNTER, MRS. LOUIS KIMBALL, MISS RACHLE HUNTER of Dexter and HENRY HUNTER of Watertown, NY. Mr. Hunter was a brother-in-law of HON. JAMES A. BELL of New York, WILLIAM and ROBERT BELL of Dexter, also DRAKE LEE of Pillar Point...He was one of the oldest living members of the Presbyterian Church in this village, having joined it by letter from the First Presbyterian Church in Watertown over 41 years ago.

MRS. JOHN HENRY of Clarks Corners died very suddenly on Monday night. She was sick for some time with dropsy and heart trouble...it is supposed to be an overflow of blood from the heart and death was instantaneous. She was over 60 years of age.

ABNER FULLER, one of the most respected residents of Antwerp, died a few days ago.

In Watertown, Jan. 10, HERMAN EUGENE, beloved son of DR. S. C. and EMMA L. KNICKERBOCKER, age 27.

ANDREW WAGONER, age 74, formerly a resident of Theresa, died very suddenly on Friday last at Philadelphia. His remains were interred at Orleans Four Corners last Sunday.

AT THERESA - MRS. FANNIE R. OSTRANDER died at her farm residence about one mile west of this village, age 68 years. She was the first child born in the town of Theresa, and was the daughter of ALLEN COLE, ESQ. At the time of her birth her parents lived on what is now known as the George Snell farm near the town line west of the village. She was married to JACOB OSTRANDER by Rev. Geo. S. Warren and was the mother of eight children: 7 sons and 1 daughter. Five sons survive her....She was a member since age 15 of the Presbyterian Church. Her funeral was largely attended at her home residence on Sunday last, with Rev. Wenrick officiating.

In the death of our venerable townsman, WILLIAM PAYNE of 97 years, our community looses a man of usefullness... followed by a short poem.

FRED MILLER, a former resident of Carthage, and brother-in-law of JOHN E. STRICKLAND and F. L. BONES, died suddenly last Wednesday morning at his residence in Middleville, Herkimer County. His illness was of short duration and his death entirely unexpected.

He was born in Hartford, Connecticut in Dec. 1804 and was removed to the town of Watertown, NY in March 1805, grew up and was identified with the county, and as much interested in its advancement and prosperity as any man in this section...In the death of Mr. Churchill, his family has lost a benefactor, his relatives a kind and social friend, and the community a neighbor that was eminently just in every transaction of life....In behalf of his sisters the writer of this would return thanks to the family and friends who so kindly cared for him during his sickness and death and assisted in his burial.

She grew worse rapidly and in spite of medical skill and the most loving care, she died at 8:45 p.m. of spinal meningitis. She was a bright, beautiful girl of thirteen years...Beautiful flowers were scattered in profusion about her at the funeral, but she was called to Heaven....
