On 15 April 1846, EUNICE HENRY of Ellisburgh petitioned to open probate, and Abel had appointed her sole executrix.

ABEL POTTER named his wife, MARGARET POTTER. Named his eldest son, JOB POTTER. Named his son, JAMES POTTER. Named his eldest daughter, that is to say, to the widow, HANNAH ELLSWORTH and the widow POLLY ELLSWORTH and MARGARET CLARK. Named his youngest daughter, EUNICE HENRY and named her executrix.
