On 21 August 1847, JAMES M. SIGOURNEY of Watertown petitioned to open probate and Anthony had appointed ALANSON PORTER SIGOURNEY and JAMES MADISON SIGOURNEY as executors of the will.

ANTHONY SIGOURNEY named his wife, BETSEY SIGOURNEY. Named his daughter MARY ANN COMINS, and her only child, MARY ADELAIDE. Named his brother, JOHN SIGOURNEY to hold a sum of money in trust for his daughter, BETSEY TURNER. Named his son, WILLIAM HARRISON SIGOURNEY. Named his sons, ALANSON PORTER and JAMES MADISON SIGOURNEY. Appointed Alanson Porter and James Madison Sigourney as executors. Will dated 5 January 1846. /s/ Anthony Sigourney
