In the matter of the estate of CHARLES JACKSON of Hounsfield, Jefferson Co., NY:
On 10 October 1887, LYMAN CROWELL petitioned to open probate; he stated that Charles had deceased on 4 October 1887 and left no will.
Heirs/next of kin:
LULA B. JACKSON and CHARLIE L. JACKSON, children of the deceased, both under 14 years of age and both reside with petitioner, LYMAN CROWELL, who was appointed their general guardian.
On 15 December 1888, a revised list of “interested persons of the estate” was filed as follows:
LULA B. JACKSON, CHARLES L. JACKSON
WILLIAM E. TYLER
FRANK R. PORTER
WILLIAM H. NODINE
SOLOMON H. HALL
JOHN N. LINK
EDGAR A. HOVEY
GEORGE H. RUSSELL
LEWIS L. DAY
ORLANDO T. GOLDEN
JOSEPH B. SHERWOOD
ELIZA R. CROWELL, as the executrix of LYMAN CROWELL, deceased.
SOLOMON H. HALL was the surviving administrator of the Charles Jackson estate.
From the notes on the final settlement, it can be determined that all of the names listed, except Lula and Charles, were creditors of the estate of Charles Jackson; the estate proceeded to the Circuit Court and property owned by Charles had to be sold to satisfy the debts.
