In the matter of the estate of CHARLES MORTON of Rutland, Jefferson Co., NY:

On 9 January 1843, ARNOLD WEBB and AARON W. PORTER of Rutland, petitioned to open probate on the estate and that they were the executors of the will.

Heirs/next of kin:
APPOLLONIA MORTON, widow of Charles Morton of Rutland
WILLIAM MORTON, son of the deceased of Pinckney, Lewis Co., NY

WILL OF CHARLES MORTON

CHARLES MORTON named his wife, APPOLLONIA. Names his son, WILLIAM MORTON. Named HENRY W. MOORE, when 21. At the death of his son, nephew WILLIAM WALKER would inherit the property. Named executors would act as guardians for son, WILLIAM. Appointed ARNOLD WEBB and AARON W. PORTER as executors. Will dated: 19 November 1842. /s/ Charles Morton.
Witnesses: AARON W. PORTER and JOEL WEBB of Rutland, NY

CODICIL: Charles Morton further declares: to wife, APPOLLONIA. Previous legacies to her constituting her share of his property and was in lieu of her dower. Codicil date 29 November, 1842. /s/ Charles Morton
Witnesses: AARON W. PORTER and JOEL WEBB of Rutland, NY

CODICIL: Charles Morton further declares and directs executors to retain property already mentioned, to son WILLIAM, to dispose of same as in their judgment shall be for his interest and to furnish same as his circumstances shall require and on the conditions of his good conduct and behavior and industrious and steady habits. Codicil dated: 18 December 1842. /s/ Charles Morton
