On 7 August 1849 ALEXANDER McNIEL of Henderson petitioned to open probate and stated that he had been named executor of the will.

WILFORD M. SHEPHERD of Henderson, a legatee, all minors under 21 years.

WILL OF DANIEL McNIEL

DANIEL McNIEL named his wife, SALLY, formerly wife of ABEL SHEPARD, deceased. Mentioned a coverlit to her that belonged to his first wife. Mentions a deed which he gave to his present wife dated 9 August 1832. Named a young friend, WILFORD M. SHEPARD. Named his granddaughter, ANNA ELIZA McNIEL. Directed executor to procure a suitable set of tombstones for twenty dollars. Named his son, ALEXANDER McNIEL and appointed him executor. Will dated 14 February 1846. /s/ Daniel McNiel
