In the matter of the estate of DAVID HOLLY of Ellisburg, Jefferson Co., NY:
DAVID HOLLY JR. who was the executor of the estate, stated that his father, David, had deceased 13 May 1834. On 23 August 1834, the following heirs appeared before the Surrogate judge in Jefferson Co.:

DAVID HOLLY named his eldest daughter, ALMIRA MARKHAM. Named his eldest son, JOHN M. HOLLY. Named his second son, LUTHER HOLLY. Named SYLPHINA HOLLY. David stated in the will that the reason he bequeathed more to Sylphina than to his other daughters was that she was a single woman advanced in years and having always lived at home and took care of her distressed mother. Named his youngest son, DAVID HOLLY, JR. Named his wife, SARAH. Named his son, David Holly Jr. as Executor of the will. Will dated 18 December 1832. /s/ David Holly

NOTE: EDWIN POTTER, a witness to the will, stated that when David Holly signed the will he was 81 or 82 years of age. According to the Fonda list this site, David Holly was born in 1751 and was a veteran of the Revolutionary War. He married SARAH SOUTHARD on 8 Nov. 1778.
