In the matter of the estate of GEORGE BETTINGER of Ellisburgh, Jefferson Co., NY:

On 9 January 1850, LEONARD BETTINGER of Ellisburgh petitioned to open probate as sole executor named in the will.

WILL OF GEORGE BETTINGER

GEORGE BETTINGER named his wife, BETSEY. Named his son, LEONARD BETTINGER. A sum in a certain bond to be payable to NANCY WOOLIVER or her heirs. Appointed son, LEONARD BETTINGER as executor. Will dated 23 June 1849. /s/ George X. Bettinger (his mark) Witnesses: JEREMIAH FIELD and HENRY G. SAUNDERS both of Ellisburgh. Will proved: 29 January 1850.

NOTE: Although George Bettinger was listed as an heir in the opening petition, George SR. did not mention him in the will.
