In the matter of the estate of GERARDUS DINGMAN of the town of Lyme, Jefferson Co. NY:
JOHN DINGMAN, son of the deceased, stated that Gerardus Dingman was a pensioner of the United States and died at Lyme on the 26th day of August 1842. He left no widow and eight children who are the only heirs of the deceased.

NOTE: HENRY CASLER, a blacksmith, died about 1842 in Turin, Lewis Co NY; he married MARGARET DINGMAN, daughter of GERARDUS DINGMAN, who was badly wounded in the Revolutionary War. He became totally blind and lived for 40 years without his sight. Henry Casler and Mary (Margaret) had seven children. JOHN DINGMAN was born 28 April 1793 and died 22 March 1883; son of GERARDUS and CATHERINA HENDRIKSE DINGMAN. Children: SARAH ANN DINGMAN DINGMAN b 1818 d 1893 and JARED DINGMAN b 1832 d 1916. John is buried in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Chaumont, Jefferson Co.
