Jeff. Co., NY Wills, Vol. 4, p. 312.
NOTE: In the 1850 census of Brownsville, Alvah Mead was age 55 and born in CT. In the 1855 census of Brownville, Hannah was living with the family of Alva MEED, at age 97, and listed as mother, born Connecticut. She had been a resident of the county for 30 years. In the War of 1812 pension documents, her son, Alvah, filed a request for bounty land based upon his service in the War. It is not clear if Hannah filed a petition for lands also. From census records we can determine that Solomon Mead was in Lewis County in 1810, but by 1820 and 1830, he was in Jefferson County and his last residence was in Brownville. Some of his property was sold at about that period and he may have deceased either just before or just after the census was taken in 1830. It is not known which Solomon Mead he was, as there were several of the same name at about the same time, but in different states.
