In the matter of the estate of HORACE EARL, of Brownville, Jefferson Co., NY:
Petition to Open Probate by FANNY FORD.
FANNY FORD, wife of SILAS FORD, stated that Horace Earl, late of the town of Brownville, died a natural death at his residence at the town aforesaid in the month of March 1842 on the 8th day, without having made a will; that the said Fanny was his widow, and SUSAN, his daughter age about 16 years; OSCAR, his son age about 14 years; LOUISA, his daughter age about 12 years; GEORGE, his son, age about 10 years; ORRICK, his son, age about 6 years and ELLIOTT, his son age about 4 years. That in the month of July 1843 Fanny was a widow and married Silas Ford, and that no letters of Administration were awarded to any person on the estate of Horace Earl.

NOTE: Silas Ford was granted Letters of Administration for the estate. However, in a communication with the Probate Court, Fanny stated that Silas Ford had left a few days prior to her letter and Fanny was apprehensive that he may not return. In addition, one of the bondsmen for the estate had withdrawn and the court requested personal appearances to sort through the issues.
