On 1 June 1846, CHRISTIAN BAXTER of Orleans petitioned to open probate and James had appointed him and PETER P. FULTZ and JOHN SHELL JR. as executors.

JAMES BAXTER named his wife, FANNY BAXTER. Named his son, CHRISTIAN BAXTER. Named his four youngest sons: JAMES, PHILIP, JACOB and VIVULDA. Named his son, NELSON. Mentioned PHILIP C. BELLINGER as a mortgage holder. He appointed PETER P. FULTZ, JOHN SHELL JR. and CHRISTIAN BAXTER as executors. Will dated 10 February 1844. /s/ James Baxter
