In the matter of the estate of JEREMIAH DIXON, of Orleans, Jefferson Co., NY:
Petition to open probate by widow, SARAH DIXON, of Orleans.
SARAH DIXON who appeared on the 11th day of October, 1853 in the probate court, stated that Jeremiah Dixon had deceased and left a will and she had been named sole executor. She named the heirs/next of kin:
SYLVESTER N. DIXON
MARY J. SLOAT, wife of HENRY SLOAT of Orleans, Jefferson Co.
AMBROSE M. DIXON
THEODOSIA WRIGHT, wife of JAMES WRIGHT of Madrid, St. Lawrence Co.
All of the above were of full age and children of the deceased.
WILL OF JEREMIAH DIXON
Named his wife, SARAH, should she outlive him, all of his estate both real and personal. Sarah was directed to pay to his several children, SYLVESTER N. DIXON, one dollar, and to THEODOSIA WRIGHT, MARY J. SLOAT and AMBROSE N. DIXON, were to receive five dollars each. Will dated 14 March 1850. /s/ JEREMIAH DIXON.
