WILL OF JOHN IRWIN
John Irwin of the Town of Orleans, Jefferson Co., NY, named eldest daughter, MARGARET B. COBB; second daughter, ANN ELIZA HORR; grandson, JOHN J. COBB; only son, WILLIAM B. COBB. Wife was named Elizabeth. If son, William, should die without issue then 1/4 of the real estate to John A. Cobb after William's death. Also, 1/4 of real estate to Ann Eliza Horr, after Ann Eliza has paid to nephew JOHN IRWIN, living in Michigan state. Named friend, Hiram Mitchel, as sole executor. Will dated 12 October 1853. /s/ John Irwin

NOTE: John Irwin was born in 1788 in New York; wife, Elisabeth, born 1786. Son, William B. Irwin was born 1823, married Lovilla M. in the 1855 census of Orleans; the widow, Elizabeth Irwin, age 70, was living with them as was Elizabeth Clark, age 67, aunt of William B. Irwin. Ann Eliza Horr was born 1819 and is listed in Orleans with husband Benjamin S. Horr, whose middle name was probably Stiles. Margaret B. Cobb was born in 1816 and was with husband, Ira B. Cobb, age 37 in Orleans in 1850.
