To the next of kin:
You are hereby required to appear before the Surrogate on the 5th day of March next at 1 o'clock ..to show cause why administration of the goods, chattels and credits of Lilias Fish, deceased, should not be granted to THURSTIN BARKER in behalf of his wife, FANNY. or to AUGUSTUS LUM in behalf of of his wife, NANCY, or to both the said Barker and Lum in behalf of their said wives...dated 2 Feb. 1849.
On 16 April 1848 - Received of Jonathan Fish, Administrator of Lillis Fish, late of Ellisburgh, deceased, eight dollars it being in full of all demands against the estate of Lillis Fish, deceased.

Note: when the appraisers were sent to inventory her estate they informed the court that there was nothing there. Jonathan Fish had requested the court to appoint him as administrator to replace Barker and Lum and the court agreed and appointed him.
