In the matter of the estate of MARY DAVIS, widow of CORNELIUS DAVIS of Clayton, Jefferson Co., NY:
NICHOLAS VINCENT and DANIEL HALL stated that MARY DAVIS, widow of CORNELIUS DAVIS, was a pensioner of the United States at the rate of eighty dollars per annum. She was a resident of the County of Jefferson and died in the town of Clayton in 1849 on the 14th day of February. She left surviving: HIRAM DAVIS, a resident of Oswego NY; LUTHER DAVIS, a resident of Lyme, Jefferson Co.; LUCY SYLVESTER, wife of IRA SYLVESTER, a resident of Clayton, NY and that these were her only children and all of lawful age. Dated: 19 March 1849.

CORNELIUS B. DAVIS, son of LUTHER and NANCY DAVIS, born 3 Sept. 1849 Cape Vincent NY.
IRA SYLVESTER, son of SETH and HANNAH EDDY SILVESTER, was born in Peterborough NY on 18 July 1796. He served in the War of 1812 with the 31st NY Infantry. He migrated to the Town of Clayton in February of 1834 by ox team and sleigh. He died in Clayton on 6 March 1874 and is buried in the Clayton Center Cemetery. He married in Pittsfield VT on 4 August 1819 to LUCY DAVIS, daughter of CHRISTOPHER and MARY (DELANO) DAVIS of Pittsfield. She was born about 1796 and died 13 Sept. 1875, age 79; buried in Clayton Center Cemetery. VIR: New Hampshire: CORNELIUS DAVIS married 25 January 1789 to MARY DELANO.
