On 31 December 1833, NATHAN HOLLY, JR., of Ellisburgh, petitioned to open probate, as a devisee in the will of Nathan Holly Sr.
WILL OF NATHAN HOLLY SR.
NATHAN HOLLY named his eldest daughter SALLY THOMPSON. Named his eldest son, ALONZO HOLLY. Named two sons: MORGAN HOLLY and NATHAN HOLLY JR. Named daughter, ALZINA HOLLY. Will dated 18 Jan. 1828. /s/ Nathan Holly
Witnesses: LYMAN ELLIS, OLIVER SNOW and SOFIAH CHEEVER
CODICIL to the will:
Nathan revoked all portions of his will which related to his son, MORGAN HOLLY, whereby he had deeded property to Morgan. Dated: 9 December 1829. /s/ Nathan Holly
Witnesses: LYMAN ELLIS, OLIVER N. SNOW and SOFIAH CHEEVER.
Will proved: 31 December 1833.

NOTE: One of the witnesses, Sofiah Cheever, stated that since her subscribing to the will and codicil that she had married Oliver Snow. See Fonda List of Rev. War. Veterans this site for military record of Nathan Holly Sr. He was born 1758 in Sharon, Berkshire Co., MA and died on 4 Sept. 1833 at 76 years. His wife, Cynthia Holley, died 20 July 1822 at 52 years, also in Ellisburg.
