NICHOLAS SALISBURY named his son, SENECA L. SALISBURY. Named his son, EDWARD SALISBURY. Named his son, SILAS S. SALISBURY. Named his daughter, LYDIA SMITH, wife of CHANCY SMITH. Named his daughter, ABIGAIL W. RUDD, wife of BENJAMIN RUDD. Named his deceased daughter, SARAH H. BOWMAN, and to her children. Named his daughter, LUCY L. L. WEBB, wife of WALTER WEBB or to her heirs. Named his brother, SMITH SALISBURY and WALTER WEBB as executors. Will dated: 15 August 1833. /s/ Nicholas Salisbury Witnesses: CALVIN SKINNER of Adams and LABAN ROSS of Adams, DAVID H. PECKHAM of Adams. Will proved: 13 January 1834.

NOTE: From the Adams, NY history: On 16 April 1800 Nicholas Salisbury (1762-1833) and his family and goods, with the help of Solomon Smith and son, as hired hands, arrived by oxen and sled and settled one mile west of the present village of Adams. The journey from Western, NY, by way of Lowville and through the forest had taken 26 days. Their cabin was the first dwelling in the town.
