In the matter of the estate of WILLIAM CHEESMAN of Alexandria, Jefferson Co., NY:
On 27 June 1843, CLIFFORD CHEESMAN of Theresa, NY, petitioned to open probate and had named him sole executor of the will.
Heirs/next of kin:
LAURENTA CHEESMAN, widow of William Cheeseman, deceased of Alexandria
SARAH CHEESMAN, minors having no general guardian and residing in Alexandria
WILL OF WILLIAM CHEESMAN
WILLIAM CHEESMAN named his wife, LAURENTA. Named his eldest daughter, HARRIET CHEESMAN. Named his two younger daughters, LUCINDA and SARAH. Appointed his executor to give forty dollars to the editor of the Christian Advocate Journal, published for the Methodist Episcopal Church in the City of New York for four copies of the paper to be sent: one copy to his wife LAURENTA and one copy to each of his daughters - Harriet, Lucinda and Sarah Cheesman. Balance of estate to his executor and he is to pay to the treasurer of the Missionary Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church for the support of missionaries. Guardianship of all of his children to his brother, CLIFFORD CHEESMAN, his executor. Additional sums to the Missionary Society named above. Will dated: 23 January 1843. /s/ William Cheesman
