On 28 October 1842, IRENE M. JOHNSON, WILLIAM J. BLODGET, JOHN J. SMITH and HIRAM S. POMEROY of Lyme petitioned to open probate on the estate, as executors of the will.

CAROLINE E. JOHNSON, all minors having no general guardian, residents of Lyme, NY
WILL OF WILLIAM JOHNSON
WILLIAM JOHNSON of Lyme, in a dangerous state of health and feeling a deep solitude for the future of his children. He mentioned his children often in the will but never by name and trusted his executors to use the estate to care for them and provide for their needs. He appointed his uncle, WILLIAM J. BLODGET, his brother-in-law, JOHN T. SMITH and his friend and neighbor HIRAM S. POMEROY, as executors of the will. Will dated: 7 September 1842. /s/ William Johnson
