The ceremony was at the home of William Strong by Episcopal Rector James Dixon Carder. His church was St George's & is now called St Peter's Episcopal Church. Marie was living in Milford at this time, assumedly with her 5 year old Alma Shew & her 1 year old Henry, at the home of William Strong. Poe's mother Mrs Clemm later stayed in 1852 wth the Strong Family.
James Dixon Carter had been pastor at the St John's Episcopal Church at Fort Hamilton, Brooklyn from its founding in 1834 until 1845, probably where Joel, Marie & Roland attended.
