MATTHEW BUELL PIONEER FAMILY

1. Lt. MATTHEW BUELL of Killingworth and Somers CT, Newport, NH and Orwell VT.

He married, at Somers CT on 14 Oct 1756 MARY KIBBE daughter of JACOB KIBBE, also of Somers, CT.

2 i ZEBE BUELL born at Newport NH on 12 April 1780 died on 14 January 1862; married

3 ii JOHN BUELL born at Somers CT on 3 Dec. 1777; died on 30 July 1814 age 36; years married Margaret Wadleigh

2. ZEBE BUELL was born at Newport NH on 12 April 1780. He was the son of Lt. MATTHEW BUELL and MARY KIBBE. ZEBE was of Newport, NY when he moved to Rodman, Jefferson County NY. He moved to Rodman in 1798 and died there on 14 January 1862 just short of 82 years.

He married about 1803
ZERVIAH KNOWLTON who was born at Woodstock NY on 1 April 1781 and died at Rodman on 31 October 1863 at 82 years. p> CHILDREN, BUELL:

5        ii      HORACE BUELL born at Rodman in 1805. Died there in 1826

6        iii      HIRAM BUELL Buell born at Rodman in 1806; married (1) EMELINE TREMAINE; (2) LAURAETT FARRETT.

7        iv      OREN BUELL born at Rodman 1808; married (1) AMANDA MILES; married (2) Clarissa Bullock who died 1861.

8         v     ORDELIA BUELL born at Rodman 1809; died 1869. She married there in 1830 (1) A. M. LOOMIS who died in 1841, m (2) in 1843 to ELIAS D. BURTON; at her death, Sophia Loomis married Elias D. Burton, her step-father.

9         vi     SILAS BUELL born at Rodman in 1811; died Rodman 1831

10         vii      MARY BUELL born at Rodman 1817; married O. C. WYMAN

11        viii      ZEBE BUELL born at Rodman 1822; married PHILANDA OATMAN

3. JOHN BUELL, son of Lt. MATTHEW BUELL and MARY KIBBE and brother of ZEBE BUELL was born at Somers CT on 3 Dec. 1777. He moved to Rodman NY where he died on 30 July 1814 age 36 years.

He married at Watertown NY in 1804
MARGARET WADLEIGH who was born 1778 and died St. Joseph MO on 2 July 1855.

15           iv     ALVINA / ALVIVA BUELL b 12 May 1811 m 12 Aug 1834 WILLIAM MILES

6. HIRAM BUELL, son of ZEBE BUELL and ZERVIAH KNOWLTON, was born at Rodman in 1806. He moved to Ellisburgh NY.

He married (1) at Rodman
EMELINE TREMAINE. She died 20 May 1845 age 35.

16 i HORACE BUELL Buell born at Rodman on 18 June 1829; moved in 1858 to Adams NY.

HIRAM BUELL married (2) at Rodman in 1845
Mrs. URSULA PERKINS, sister of his first wife; she did 1871.

8. ORDELIA BUELL daughter of ZEBE BUELL and ZERVIAH KNOWLTON was born at Rodman 1809; died 1869. She married there in 1830 (1) A. M. LOOMIS who died in 1841, m (2) in 1843 ELIAS D. BURTON

ORDELIA BUELL LOOMIS married (2) in 1843 ELIAS D. BURTON, at her death, SOPHIA LOOMIS married ELIAS D. BURTON, her step-father.

10. HORACE BUELL, son of HIRAM BUELL and Mrs. URSULA PERKINS was born at Rodman on 18 June 1829; moved in 1858 to Adams NY.

Married there on 17 Oct 1849
LAURAETT FARRETT, born 30 Jan 1831.

12. NORMAN BUELL son of JOHN BUELL & MARGARET WADLEIGH was born at Rodman NY on 25 April 1806. He moved in 1834 to St. Joseph, MO

He married at Watertown

14 . MATTHEW BUELL son of JOHN BUELL & MARGARET WADLEIGH was born at Rodman NY b 8 Nov 1809. He moved to Canada in 1849 where he died 26 Aug 1830 at 41 years.

He married at Rodman on 18 March 1838
JULIA A. MILES of Albany NY who was born 9 Oct. 1816.

15. ALVINA / ALVIVA BUELL daughter of JOHN BUELL & MARGARET WADLEIGH was born at Rodman on 12 May 1811.

She married at Rodman 12 Aug 1834
WILLIAM MILES of Albany NY, who was born 1807 and moved to Lorraine NY about that time.
