1. ISAAC CLEVELAND, (son of ISAAC and (---) CLEVELAND) was born 22 Jan 1755 at Canterbury CT. He was a Revolutionary War veteran and served 3 or 4 seasons as an 8 months man in a Connecticut Regiment, going home winters and serving with the army summers. He finally settled in the Town of Rutland, Jefferson County, appearing in the 1810 and 1820 census as head of family in the Town of Rutland. He died 14 May 1838 in Rutland, aged 83.

MAMRE or MAMRA MATTHEWS, (daughter of ABNER and (---) MATTHEWS) who was
born 4 Jun or Jul 1760 at Farmington CT. She died 3 Jul 1845 in Rutland.

3. HARVEY CLEVELAND (son of ISAAC and MAMRE (MATTHEWS) CLEVELAND) was born 20 Aug 1782 in Claremont NH. In 1806, HARVEY and ISAAC CLEVELAND built a sawmill on the south side of the river in the village of Black River (Lockport) in Rutland and LeRay. Flooding destroyed the sawmill in 1807, and they rebuilt it the same year. This was the first dam in the village of Black River, and the first waterpower on the river. HARVEY was a volunteer in the War of 1812, and lost his left arm at the Battle of Sackets Harbor. In the 1810,1820, and 1825 census, HARVEY and RELIEFlived in Rutland as a neighbor to ISAAC CLEVELAND. In 1863 RELIEF CLEVELAND, now a widow, lived in the Town of Hounsfield.
He married Mar 1808 in Rutland, Jefferson County
RELIEF CROSS, (daughter of ABEL and DESIRE (PALMER) CROSS) who was born 5
Oct 1791 in Bennington VT. She died 20 May 1885 at the age of 92 and was
buried in Sulphur Springs Cemetery, East Hounsfield.
