PIONEER CONKLIN FAMILY


1. DAVID CONKLIN, (son of JAMES and SARAH (BATES) CONKLIN) was born 15 Nov 1773 South Salem, NY. He was an early settler in Rutland and purchased his first land Oct 14, 1809 in Rutland from Isaac Bronson. ALVIN, his youngest son, apparently inherited the farm in Rutland. The house still stands in Rutland not too far from the cemetery. A number of the children went to Hartford, MI. Anna and Jesse went to California. David #2 went to Illinois. DAVID CONKLIN died 11 Oct 1866 in Rutland, Jefferson County, and is buried in Maple Hill Cemetery there.

ANNA GILBERT who was born 11 Mar 1781 South Salem NY. She died 4 Jan 1832 in Rutland and is also buried in Maple Hill Cemetery, Rutland.
