Deeds of Sigourney and Littlefield:

This indenture made 25 December 1815 between Edmond Allen and Samuel Harger of Brownville, Jeff. Co., Caroline Allen, wife of Edmond Allen and Eunice Harger, wife of Samuel Harger, of the first part, and William Huntington, John Gotham, Seth Bailey, Jonathan Field, Anthony Segourney and Andrew Segourney of Jefferson of the second part...for the sum of $2,000...a piece of land in Brownville, ...the said Andrew and Anthony Segourney both to have one-fifth of the land above mentioned, the residue of the lot to be held by the other parties of the second part....../s/ Edmund Allen, Samuel Harger, Caroline Allen, Eunice Harger...in the presence of B. Skinner, Jeff. Co. On 26 December 1815, personally appeared Emund Allen and Caroline, his wife, Samuel Harger and wife, Eunice, to acknowledge their signatures. Rec. 6 December 1815.

This indenture made 1800 between Wm. Huntington of Watertown of the first part and Andrew Sigorney of the same place..for $1,500 sold that tract of land in the Town of Watertown, being a part of great lot No. 23...witnesses Wm. Huntington, Elvira Huntington...On 2 October 1816, William Huntington and wife Elvira acknowledge the deed. Recorded 2 July 1825.
Vol. V p. 296.

An indenture made 27 November 1821 between Anthony Sigourney of Watertown and Betsey, his wife, of the first part, and Amanda Sigourney of the same place of the second part...for $200 quit claim unto the said party of the second part (Amanda) now being in her actual possession...all that undivided one-third part of all that parcel of land in Watertown being part of great Lot. No. 23. The above and hereby intended to be granted premises are hereby granted subject however to such and whatever claim as Hannah Sigourney, the wife of Andrew Sigourney, late of Watertown aforesaid, deceased, may have either in law or equity to the same on account of Dower.../s/Anthony Sigourney, Betsey Sigourney. On the 2nd day of July 1825, appeared before me Anthony Sigourney and wife Betsey to acknowledge the deed. Rec. 21 July 1849.

Will of Anthony Sigourney

He named his wife, Betsey Sigourney. Named his daughter, Mary Ann Comins, and her only child Mary Adalaide. Named his brothers, John Sigourney in trust for the benefit of Anthony's daughter, Betsey Turner. Named his son, William Harrison Sigourney. Named his sons: Alanson Porter and James Madison Sigourney. His real estate on Lot No. 3 in Watertown, which was also his premises.
Will dated 5 January 1846. /s/ Anthony Sigourney
Witnesses: John Sigourney, Benjamin Woodruff, William Boom all of Watertown, NY.
Will proved: 30 August 1847.

Indenture made 1 April 1848 between James Madison Sigourney and Eliza R., his wife of Watertown, NY of the first part and Alanson Porter Sigourney of the same place of the second part...land deeded to Frederick B. Sigourney by Anthony Sigourney...lands owned by Anthony Sigourney at the time of his decease and by him willed to Alanson Porter Sigourney and James Madison Sigourney, will recorded in Book D, p. 413, except five acres quit claimed to James Madison Sigourney by Alanson Porter Sigourney. The said lands having been deeded to Anthony by Enos Scott and wife on 7 September 1811 which deed is recorded in the Clerks Office on V 2 of Deeds page 91. /s/ James M. Sigourney and Eliza R. Sigourney. On 22 April 1842 they appeared to acknowledge the deed. Recorded 30 June 1849.

Susanna Littlefield and Edward Barney of Ellisburgh as administratrix and administrator of the estate of Edmond Littlefield, deceased...upon their petition presented to the Surrogate, a certain lot of land in Ellisburgh known as Lot No. 56, containing 250 acres, excepting 20 acres in square 4, to be sold in fee simple...for the use and in trust...and the said Susanna, widow of Edmond...released her dower rights...on 9 March 1810. /s/ Susanna Littlefield and Edward Barney.Recorded 30 August 1810.

Indenture made 24 October 1805 betwseen Edmund Littlefield of Ellisburgh of the first part and Metcalf Lee of Ellisburgh of the second part...land in the Township of Ellisburgh being the north east corner of Lot No. 58 containing 100 acres.../s/ Edmund Littlefield, Susanna Littlefield, in the presence of Edward Boomer and Polly Littlefield. On 5 August 1807, Edward Boomer witnessed the deed, likewise, Susanna Littlefield, widow of Edmund Littlefield. Recorded 25 June 1810.

This indenture made 16 August 1849 between Thomas I. Smith of Elba County of Dodge, State of Wisconsin, and Sabrina, his wife of the first part, and Jane Pennel and Esther S. Pennel of Lyme, Jefferson Co., NY of the second part, for the sum of $70, paid by the party of the second part, quit claim unto the party of the second part, all that parcel of land in Lyme, Jeff. Co., NY...from the SW corner of lot No. 143 now occupied by Jane and Esther S. Pennel...being the said lot conveyed to Wm. H. Lawton by Joseph Belisle and Justeen Belisle, by deed date 1 Dec. 1838 and recorded in Jeff. Co. V. E3, p. 470. /s/ T. I. Smith and Sabrina Smith. Thomas Smith and Sabrina appeared on 15 November 1854 and acknowledge the deed.

Lawton by Joseph Belise and Justin Belisle by deed dated 1 December 1838 and record in Jeff. Co. V E3rd of Deeds, p. 470. /s/ Jane Pennel and Esther Pennel on 31 March 1831 appeared to acknowledge the deed. Rec. 6 May 1851.

This indenture made 10 September 1840 between John Pennel of Ellisburg, and Polly, his wife, of the first part, and Jesse Littlefield of the second part, for the sum of ten dollars, sold and released to the said party of the second part...a parcel of land lying and being the town of Ellisburgh...being part of Lot No. 59...containing ten acres.../s/ John Pennell and Polly Pennell. On 12 February 1841, John Pennel and Polly, his wife, acknowledge the deed.

Co., of the first part, and William Pennel of the same place, of the second part, for the sum of $1,500 sold, released that parcel of land in the town of Ellisburgh, being a part of Lots No. 59 and 60 Excepting and reserving from the above described piece of land, the following parcels, to-wit: a piece containing about ten acres on the south side of the road from Belleville to Jotham Bigelow; also a piece of land containing about two or three acres deeded to Jesse Littlefield, Jr. /s/ John Pennel and Polly Pennel and on 24 Feb. 1852, John and Polly Pennel acknowledge the deed.

Brown and Maria E. Pennel. On 11 March 1852, Jared Brown and wife Maria E. and Maria Pennel appeared to acknowledge the deed.
