PIONEER HENRY FIKES FAMILY



1. HENRY FIKES was born 30 July 1771, the son of Palatine immigrant, PHILIP ADAM FIKES, and his wife, MARGARETHA (---). PHILIP served in the Tryon Co. militia.Co. F. Klock's Regiment, Capt. Christopher Fox's Company

HENRY FIKES came to Pamelia, Jefferson County, in 1824. By 1831 they resettled in Leray township.

He married MARGARET KECK
Children, FIKES, all believed to be born in the township of Minden, Montgomery County NY:

     2          i   MARGARET FIKES, b 1799, m CONRAD SHIMMEL

     3         ii   CATRINA FIKES, b 28 Oct. 1802

     4        iii   MARY FIKES b1805, m HENRY HOUSE

     5         iv   ADAM FIKES, b. 21 Sept.1806, died young.

     6          v   JOHN ADAM FIKES, b 26 March 1801 (or 1808), m ELEANOR GILMAN, and removed to Illinois.

     7         vi   JACOB FIKES, b 4 Oct. 1809, m his cousin, MARGARET FIKES

     8        vii   HENRY FIKES, b 13 Feb. 1812, m R. JANE

     9       viii   CATHERINE FIKES, b 16 Sept. 1814, m BENJAMIN ROOF

   10         ix   PETER FIKES, b ? Unknown, possibly transported to Tasmania.

    11         x   DOROTHY "DOLLY", b. 9 March 1791, m CHRISTIAN CASSELMAN

    12         xi   HANNAH b.? m (---) BELLINGER
