PIONEER HOPKINS FAMILY



1. THOMAS HOPKINS was born April 4, 1776 at Kingston, Rhode Island. He served in the War of 1812 in Captain Wells Company and Captain Starratt's Company, N. Y. Militia. Thomas Hopkins purchased land in Champion, June 1, 1808 from Henry Champion and his wife Abigail. It is recorded in the Jefferson Deeds, Page 260 and 261, Lot # 17. He died at Champion, Jefferson Co., April 4 1860. Thomas Hopkins and his wife Hannah are buried in West Carthage Cemetery

He married
HANNAH WHALEY who was born March 9, 1779 at Kingston, Rhode Island and died at Champion, May 9, 1857. They had 11 children.
