1. ARNOLD LEWIS (son of NEHEMIAH & ESTHER (ARNOLD) LEWIS) was born 1733/34 at Rhode Island. ARNOLD LEWIS served in the French and Indian War seven years. He served seven additional years in the Revolutionary War as a surgeon, and held a colonel's commission. After the Revolutionary War he became a preacher in the Baptist church. He moved to Cheshire, MA, to Sand Lake, NY, and to Galway NY. He had a tannery, and was a currier and shoemaker. He came into the Black River country about 1800 and took up a tract of 700 acres in the now Town of Champion, Jefferson County. In 1803 he moved to Champion, Jefferson County, where he purchased 400 acres of land and gave his sons Nicholas and Eseck each 100 acres. He died 6 Oct 1825 at Champion, Jefferson County, NY. He and his wife are buried in the Champion Huddle Cemetery.

BARBARA POTTER, who was the daughter of JOHN & ABIGAIL (---) POTTER of RI.
She died 3 May 1803 at Loborough, Ontario.

8. ESECK LEWIS (son of ARNOLD & ANNA (CRANDALL) LEWIS) was born 14 Sep 1783 at Massachusetts. He died 14 Apr 1879 at Champion, Jefferson County and is buried in the Old Church Cemetery there.

HANNAH SPRINGER, who was born 18 Jan 1783. She died 1 Oct 1857, and is buried
in the Old Church Cemetery with her husband.
