Corrections and explanations of above information from John at granger@bfm.org

Stephen Lindsey was born in Stafford, Tolland Co., Connecticut on 22 Mar 1759 [Stafford VR]
Stephen Lindsey was the youngest son of Archibald and Priscilla (Stephenson) Lindsey who were married in Stafford on 22 Apr 1741 [Stafford VR]. Archibald and his brother John Lindsey removed from Bridgewater, Plymouth Co Mass to Stafford ca. 1736-37 [Stafford Deeds]. In Dec 1741 Archibald acquired title to a home lot in Stafford from his brother John [Stafford Minute Books & Deeds]
Archibald Lindsey is often referred to in the Stafford records as Asebel or Archibel Linsey.
In 1784 Archibald sold his land holdings in Stafford [Stafford Deeds].
Archibald with Priscilla and their two youngest children, Stephen and Ruth, removed from Stafford to the Ashfield/Buckland area of then Hampshire Co., Mass [Hampshire Co. Deeds].
While living in the Ashfield/Buckland of Mass. , Stephen Lindsey met up with Sarah McNitt daughter of the widowed Martha (Patrick) McNight/Nitt (father was David McKnitt/McNitt son of Barnard McNitt & Jean Clark). Stephen and Sarah married ca 1785-88 (no record has been found).
In 1789 Stephen is noted as a member of the Baptist Church of Ashfield but residing in Buckland.
Stephen and his family are enumerated in the Buckland 1790 census and the Colrain 1798 Direct Tax Records and 1800 Census.
Sometime after the 1800 Colrain census Stephen, Sarah and their 5 children removed from Colrain to that part of Oneida Co., NY that later became Oswego Co NY. (Sandy Creek Census - my note).

John's Notes:

1) When I refer to Stafford VR I am referring to the original record books and not the Barbour Collection of Conn Vital records. Numerous transcription errors were made when the Stafford records were transcribed to create the Barbour Collection.

2) I have a copy of Stephen's Rev. War pension application. Connecticut service records do not agree with his numerous alleged enlistments! However, the Connecticut records do show that he did serve in Col. Eno's Regiment of the Connecticut Militia and was include in a muster roll on 20 June 1778. The affidavit outlining his claim for a pension repeatedly refers to his residence as Stratford. I have no records of Lindsey's in STRATFORD., perhaps a mixup on the part of the individual who wrote out the application; writing Stratford instead of Stafford.

3)Published Vital Records and original Town Book for Ashfield, Buckland and Colrain are lacking in data for Stephen and his family. The same goes for the NEHGS Corbin Collection for Hampshire and Franklin counties.
