To the A.A Dept of Washington
Sir,
I have the honor to make application for a furlough of forty-eight hours for the purpose of visiting Gettysburg and the scenes of the debris(?) of battle of the last July, with my father who is now on a visit to me at this camp. Hoping that my application will meet with your favor, I am, Sir, most respectively your obedient servent.
