Jerome N. Fredericks was born in Jefferson Co., NY on 29 June 1823. He is a son of John and Eunice (Nutting) Fredericks. The father, a native of Holland, came to America in 1806 and settled in Groton, MA where he married Eunice Nutting. In 1837 he moved to Conneaut and died at Kingsville on 30 Dec 1855 age 90 years. Eunice died about 1859 age 66 years. Jerome Fredericks married Milura Cowles, daughter of Sylvester and Sophronia (Mason) Cowles of Medina Co., Ohio.
Seth Brewster was born at Lebanon CT on 30 Jan 1770; he married in Rome NY on 11 Oct. 1792 to Abigail Walworth. She was born at Guilford VT on 14 Aug 1772 and died in Auburn OH on 29 July 1847. Seth died in Auburn on 29 Jan 1844. They lived at Ellisburg, Jefferson Co NY until 1832, and then moved to Auburn, Geauga Co OH. Their adult sons accompanied them: Lyman, Jessie, Seth W., Hiram and Calvin; daughters Olive and Mary. Daughter, Eunice, died in New York.
Orson Allen was born 28 May 1805 in Jefferson Co NY. On 21 June 1832 he married Eliza Stillwill in Russia Township, Loraine Co, OH. Orson Allen died 17 May 1903 at age 91 years 11 months and 7 days. Orson Francis Allen was the son of Silas Allen and Louise (Lois) Butterfield.

Van Buren NY 2 shares; Lydia (my sister) of Lysander NY 1 share of the balance of the estate.
Luther Mather was a son of Stephen Mather, and was born in Bennington VT on 24 June 1785. He came to Columbus OH in March 1825 from Jefferson Co NY where he had been living for a number of years and became an early settler of Columbus. Luther Mather married 7 Nov. 1811 Gabrielle B. Balmat, of Jefferson Co NY, but a native of Paris, France. She died in Columbus in January 1881 age 90. Luther died on 9 June 1842.
James Fillmore was born in Middletown, Rutland Co, VT on 14 July 1817, son of John and Huldah (Whitmore) Fillmore, who died when James was four years of age. James was then raised by his uncle, Asher Seward, of Jefferson Co NY, with whom he lived until he was 17. James married on 1 January 1840 Juliette E. Nutting, daughter of Ezra Nutting of Henderson, Jefferson Co. NY. James married 2)Sophia Myers, daughter of Stephen Myers of Streetsboro. He married 3)Rachel E. Likers of Streetsboro and his fourth wife was Mrs. Louisa French, nee Tucker. In 1840 James Fillmore came to Streetsboro Twnp and purchased land.
Horace L. Sill was born in Adams, Jefferson Co., NY. He married there in 1832 to Mary W. Pettibone. She was born 9 Feb 1809. The Sills spent some time in Cuyahoga Co., OH until 1840; then to Wisconsin and Illinois and to Nebraska in 1876. Mary died in 1878.
William Van Waters was born in Jefferson Co NY in 1817. His parents moved to St. Lawrence Co NY when he was a boy and resided there until their death. William came to Wisconsin in 1853. His brother, George, came with him to LaCrosse Valley. George moved to Jackson County, WI. William's first wife was Mary Campbell who was born in St. Lawrence Co NY. He married 2)Mary Adams.
John R. Bennett was born at Rodman, Jefferson Co NY on 1 November 1820, son of Daniel Bennett and Deborah Leeds Bennett, whose maiden name was Spicer. John Bennett's father was born in Stonington CT on 16 Feb. 1793, of David Bennett and Rebecca Bennett. Rebecca's maiden name was Miner. David Bennett was the son of Stephen and Mehitable Bennett. John Bennett's mother was the daughter of Wiliam Spicer and Hannah (Leeds) Spicer, daughter of Gideon Leeds of Leeds, England. John worked on the home farm and attended public schools and entered the Black River Literary and Religious Institute at Watertown, NY. He worked in the law office of Wester W. Wager at Brownville, Jefferson Co. On 28 Nov. 1844 at Hounsfield, Jefferson Co NY James married Elsie L. Holloway, daughter of Charles and Chloe Holloway. James left New York on October 2, 1848 and settled at Janesville WI. Although James Bennett had no children he had two adopted sisters: Minnie and Kitty Parry, who assumed his name and lived with him for over twenty years.
Dr. A. Patterson was born in Ellisburg, Jefferson Co NY in 1820 and moved to Durand, Winnebago Co IL on 26 March 1839. He walked from Cleveland, OH to Durand with a pack on his back. He graduated from Rush Medical College in 1849 and served as a doctor during the Civil War at Nashville TN. As a young man he had his parents to support. On 2 January 1848 he married Ruth Burrows of Oswego Co NY.
E. G. Harlow was born at Sackett's Harbor, Jefferson Co NY on 18 Nov 1832. He married Fannie Howe on 1 Aug 1854. Fannie was born at Sackett's Harbor on 1 March 1835. E. G. Harlow's brother was the Hon. George H. Harlow, Secretary of State for Illinois. E. G. Harlow moved to Janesville WI in 1854 and was a grain and produce buyer until the Civil War began, at which time he recruited 70 men from Janesville and was First Lt. Of the 12th Wis. Bat., light artillery. He served with Grant at Vicksburg, with Sherman in the march to the sea and at the close of the war was breveted Captain by the President for his meritorious service.
Lawrence W. Hawks was born in 1829; he married Martha Maria Smith of Washington Co NY in 1849. His parents were Rufus and Polly (Ward) Hawks. Rufus was born in Massachusetts in 1802 and Polly was born in Jefferson Co NY and died in 1860 age 54 years. They came to Erie Co. in 1820.
Lewis Hawks was born in 1827; he married Harriet Thomas, daughter of Jonathan Thomas of Jefferson Co NY. She was born in 1824 and married Lewis in 1849. Lewis was on the son of Rufus and Polly (Ward) Hawks.
Dr. Gary Hosmer was born 10 Dec 1854 and graduated from the Long Island College Hospital in 1877; after which he practiced at Antwerp, Jefferson Co NY. He was a town supervisor in Antwerp from 1890 to 1899 and a member of assembly from the second district from 1 Jan 1906 to 1 Jan 1911. He married Mary F. Tamblin on 30 August 1876.
Thomas F. Mardis, was born in Jefferson Co., NY in 1837. He moved to Iowa from Ohio in 1857 and settled in Washington Co. In 1859 he moved to Clarke Co; and then to Madison Co in 1873. He was engaged in the brick business from boyhood and also farms. He served in the Civil War for three years. He married Hulda Ann Clark in 1860 who was born in Illinois.
Winfield M. Fox was born in Jefferson Co., NY on 21 Sept 1850, one of nine children of Elijah and Eliza (Farewell) Fox. He attended Jefferson County schools and then engaged in farming. At age 28 he entered the clothing business at Three Mile Bay, Jefferson Co., for four years. He then moved to Taberg [Town of Annsberg, Oneida Co, NY] and engaged in furniture and undertaking. He married Lucy Whiting of Three Mile Bay, daughter of John C. Whiting.
